New Zealand is located to the South East of Australia in the south western Pacific Ocean and comprises of two main islands – the North Island and the South Island.  There are also many smaller islands, but the North and South Island are where most New Zealand holidays are taken.  New Zealand holidays are increasingly accessible with regular flights to Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland.    Typically, a one stop flight to Auckland, which is on the North Island, can be made in just under 24 hours but the duration of your flight will depend on the stopover location and time between flights.  Wellington, the nation’s capital is on the southern tip of the North Island whilst Christchurch is on the South Island.  Many people who fly to New Zealand from the UK for a holiday often take the opportunity to spend a day or two in the stopover location to break up the flight and to just make the most out of the time away – two countries for one!
